Solution Partners

Our patterns of work have changed, and we now travel to meet clients and suppliers. No longer do we confine ourselves to working just in the office, and between 9 and 5. We juggle our lives between family and our careers, and so AM Consultancy have come up with a number of solutions to let you work when and where you want.

Home working with Virtual Private Networks

With broadband at home, our Cisco VPN solution allows you to securely connect to your computer at work, and work away just as thought you were situated at work, but actually sitting at your home.

The solution operates using some of the most advanced encryption technologies available today. Please call us for a free demonstration and explanation as to how it works and how home working solutions can greatly benefit your business.

Email to mobile device

As well as mobile telephones, GPRS is also available on certain palm pilots

GPRS / 3G Mobile internet connectivity

General Packet Radio Service is a technology that allows your phone to transfer data at moderate speeds. – faster then just a mobile phone, but generally slower then a modem.

To use GPRS, you need a phone that supports it, a subscription from your network operator(Jersey Telecom in the case of Jersey Clients) that supports GPRS, and the proper settings.

General Packet Radio Service does what it says: it sends "packets" of data over a radio wave (on the GSM network). Because of this, you only pay for the actual data that is transferred, not the time you have it on. Therefore you can always be ready to receive emails, but only pay for those emails you receive.

3G is the latest kind of internet connectivity for mobile devices. It is significantly faster then GPRS, and is comparable with the lower end of broadband speeds.

Unfortunately it is not yet available in Jersey and is unlikely to be until early 2006. Our UK clients can benefit from 3G whilst in the UK through the operator “3”.

Combining GPRS / 3G with Virtual private networking allows you to connect to your office system and operate your office calendar / email system whilst on the train etc. Please call us for a demonstration, or to know more about how these technologies can fit into your business.
